One evening in London, pint in hand, an idea was born. INEOS Chairman Jim Ratcliffe sat in the dimly lit Grenadier pub on the cobbled streets of Belgravia and hatched a plan to build the spiritual successor to the legendary 4x4s of old.

The first Grenadier sketch was drawn on the back of a £5 note — still pinned to that pub’s ceiling today. A reminder that this vehicle wasn’t designed by committee, focus group, or spreadsheet.
